Rugby players come in all shapes and sizes…
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or have never laced up a pair of boots, rugby is a sport that truly has a place for everyone. Rugby thrives on diversity: it needs the strength and power of the front row just as much as the speed and agility of the backline. Beyond the pitch, you’ll find a community built on the core values of respect, discipline, and lifelong camaraderie. We welcome players of every sporting background and fitness level to join our family—so why not come out to a training session, meet the team, and see why this is the world’s greatest team sport?

Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never played a contact sport before. Is it safe to start now?
Absolutely. Safety is our top priority. Our beginner clinics focus heavily on “technical proficiency”—teaching you exactly how to fall, tackle, and engage in contact safely. You won’t be thrown into a full-contact match until you and our coaches feel you are ready and confident.
Do I need to be in peak “game shape” to join?
Not at all. Rugby is one of the best ways to get into shape. Because the game has so many different roles, we have positions suited for various fitness levels and body types. Whether you have high endurance or explosive power, we will find the right spot for you.
What gear do I need to bring to my first session?
For your first clinic, all you really need is a pair of athletic shorts, a sturdy t-shirt (one you don’t mind getting a bit dirty), and water. Our first sessions will be indoors, so regular sneakers are fine. Later, soccer or football cleats would be needed for training on turf or grass. We’ll provide the rugby balls and the coaching. Once you decide to stick with it, we can advise you on buying a mouthguard and rugby-specific boots.
What happens if I don’t understand the rules?
Rugby has a lot of rules, and even veteran players are still learning! Our coaches and senior players are incredibly patient. We focus on the “big” rules first (passing backward, staying onside) and pick up the nuances as we go. You’ll be surprised how quickly it clicks once you start playing.
What if I can’t commit to a regular schedule?
No problem. We all have work, family etc. that we have to take care of. Ideally you can spare two nights a week for training, and games on Saturday. But not everyone can make that work. Our Division 4 team is for more casual players, and our Division 2 is more for those who are ready to go “all in”. Take it at your own pace and see what works.
What’s the ideal age to learn rugby?
Well the younger you start the more time you’ll have to enjoy the game, but the age range for our senior squad is typically between 18 and 35. If you’re under 18 we’ve got youth teams to get you started, and if you’re over 35 we’ve got “old boys/girls” teams that still enjoy the game, while highlighting the social aspects of the sport even more.
