In 2011, the PWRFC toured Ireland and went to the USA Rugby Women’s National Championships for Division 2 held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where they placed 5th. 2000 – 2010
The current Women’s Team was restarted in 2005. A small group of women played summer sevens and then took New England by storm – undefeated in their first year as a Division 3 team and subsequently moving up to Division 2 the next year. 1977 – 1990
The Portland Women’s Rugby Football Club began playing in Spring 1977. The founders had been commuting to Boston for a fall season and wanted their own club.
